The successful sightseeing trip to the northern Irish coast was largely made possible by luck. The DIY tour, because my traveling partner and I were too proud and too cheap at the time to use a touring service, involved four faraway destinations well spaced from each other and serviced only by a every-one-and-a-half-hour country bus. Considering the unavailability of Google Maps and lack of bus schedules in rural northern Ireland, it was a miracle that we made it to all our destinations that day. And the sights we saw were fitting to the expedition it took to get there.
